I have been taking pictures for over forty years, starting in high school with the paper and yearbook. I have used a number of different film cameras, finally moving up to a high end digital and medium format. My wife started late with some of my hand-me-downs and now is learning how to use her Nikon D300. We have been self taught, usng real images to find our way.
We plan our vacations, not for how much we can do, rather, for how many opportunities exist for capturing images. We enjoy getting up at 3am to travel to a site, capture the early light and then use the remainder of the day to find new sites for the next day. We finish up the day capturing images at sunset. We do get a little sight seeing in during the days, however, with our schedule, we do get to see things that others don't. The image of the sunrise at OX Bow Bend on the left brought cold air and warm friendships of those who were there to enjoy the beginning of the day.
